Description

Deliciously soft and chewy cookies packed with festive sprinkles, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup Granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup Light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 Large egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 box (3.4 oz) Instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ cup Christmas sprinkles
  • Red and green gel food coloring (optional, to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar together until the mixture is light and creamy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the bowl. Mix until everything is smooth and fully combined.
  4. Next, add the instant vanilla pudding mix, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix just until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. If you want colorful cookies, divide the dough into two parts. Use red or green gel food coloring to tint the dough, swirling the colors together gently without fully blending them.
  6. Fold in most of the Christmas sprinkles into the dough while keeping a small amount aside for topping the cookies later.
  7. Scoop the dough into 2-tablespoon portions and place them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Press extra sprinkles on top of each cookie.
  8. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 9–11 minutes. Look for edges that are set, while the centers should still look soft and lightly crackled.
  9. Once done, remove the cookies from the oven. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container with parchment paper between layers to keep them fresh. They can be frozen for up to three months.
