Description
Delicious homemade peppermint patties with creamy peppermint filling and smooth chocolate coating.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1–2 teaspoons peppermint extract (to taste)
- 1–2 tablespoons heavy cream (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar and peppermint extract. Mix well until it forms a soft dough.
- If desired, add heavy cream for creaminess. Roll the mixture into small balls or flatten it into disks.
- Place the formed patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and butter. Melt in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Remove the chilled patties and dip each into melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off.
- Place coated patties back on parchment paper and let them cool until the chocolate hardens.
