Description

Delicious homemade peppermint patties with creamy peppermint filling and smooth chocolate coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 12 teaspoons peppermint extract (to taste)
  • 12 tablespoons heavy cream (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar and peppermint extract. Mix well until it forms a soft dough.
  2. If desired, add heavy cream for creaminess. Roll the mixture into small balls or flatten it into disks.
  3. Place the formed patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and butter. Melt in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  5. Remove the chilled patties and dip each into melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off.
  6. Place coated patties back on parchment paper and let them cool until the chocolate hardens.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
