- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups sliced potatoes (about 4 medium potatoes)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: additional seasonings (such as garlic powder or paprika)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion over medium heat until the meat is cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- In a casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Add the seasoned ground beef mixture on top, followed by the cream of mushroom soup.
- Layer the remaining potatoes on top and season with salt and pepper. Add optional seasonings if desired.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat before serving.
