Description

A comforting and budget-friendly casserole with ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for families.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cups sliced potatoes (about 4 medium potatoes)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: additional seasonings (such as garlic powder or paprika)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion over medium heat until the meat is cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Add the seasoned ground beef mixture on top, followed by the cream of mushroom soup.
  4. Layer the remaining potatoes on top and season with salt and pepper. Add optional seasonings if desired.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
  6. Remove the foil, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat before serving.
