- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
- Extra Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Boil salted water and cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Melt unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart while cooking until browned. Stir in onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture and stir to coat evenly.
- Pour in beef broth, deglaze the pan, and simmer for about 2 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and allow to simmer gently until slightly thickened.
- Reduce heat to low, add mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, and stir until melted and creamy.
- Add cooked penne pasta, toss to coat with the sauce, and let cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- If desired, garnish with chopped parsley and serve with extra Parmesan cheese.
