- Red gel food coloring (for sugar blood)
Instructions
- For the whipped cream, add 1 cup heavy cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon sugar to a mixer and whip until stiff peaks form.
- Combine whole milk, heavy cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, chopped white chocolate, and mini chocolate chips in a saucepan.
- Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until the chocolate melts and the mixture simmers.
- Add a few drops of red food coloring and mix to achieve a vampire hue.
- Pour hot chocolate into prepared mugs and top with whipped cream.
- For the sugar blood, combine water and light corn syrup in a saucepan.
- Add sugar gradually, stirring gently until well mixed.
- Heat without stirring until it reaches 300F on a candy thermometer.
- Add red food coloring, stir briefly, and let cool.
- Dip glass rims into the sugar mixture and allow to drip as it hardens.
Notes
Ensure to use high-quality white chocolate for best results. Adjust red food coloring to desired shade and avoid boiling the hot chocolate.
