- 1 pound ground turkey
- 3 cups stale bread cubes
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried sage
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (optional for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and celery for about 5 minutes until softened, then add minced garlic for an additional minute.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, stale bread cubes, sautéed onion and celery mixture, dried sage, dried thyme, salt, black pepper, chicken broth, and beaten egg. Mix well until combined.
- Shape the mixture into 1 to 1.5 inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Optionally, serve with cranberry sauce on top.
Notes
Use stale bread to avoid mushiness. Do not overmix to maintain texture. Check for doneness by ensuring they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
