Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup gummy bears (optional)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda (optional for lighter texture)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine Rice Chex cereal, pecans, pretzel sticks, and gummy bears.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then add brown sugar, granulated sugar, corn syrup, salt, and vanilla extract. Stir constantly until it boils.
  4. Let the mixture boil for 4-5 minutes, stirring in baking soda if desired.
  5. Pour the toffee mixture over the dry ingredients and fold to coat evenly.
  6. Spread evenly on the baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  7. Let cool completely before breaking into clumps.
  8. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave and drizzle over the cooled mixture.
  9. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
