Description

Delightful bite-sized treats inspired by the classic Italian dessert, featuring creamy mascarpone, rich chocolate, and a hint of coffee.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon espresso or strong coffee (cooled)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cocoa powder (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1/2 cup ladyfinger crumbs (or graham crackers)
  • 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate (for coating)
  • 2 oz white chocolate (optional drizzle)
  • Mini chocolate chips (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, espresso, and cocoa powder. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Stir in the ladyfinger crumbs (or graham crackers) until the mixture thickens. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  3. Once chilled, scoop and roll the mixture into 1-inch balls using your hands. Arrange the balls on a parchment-lined tray.
  4. To firm up the truffles, place the tray in the freezer for 15–20 minutes.
  5. While the truffles are chilling, melt the semi-sweet or dark chocolate.
  6. Once melted, dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate. Gently tap to remove excess chocolate and then place the truffles back on the tray.
  7. If desired, drizzle melted white chocolate on top of each truffle and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips for decoration.
  8. Before the coating sets, dust the truffles with cocoa powder for an extra touch.
  9. Chill the truffles in the refrigerator until the coating is firm.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for easier mixing. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
