Description

Delicious thick chocolate chip cookies that are chewy, gooey, and perfect for dessert lovers.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time and the vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  7. Drop large balls of dough (about 2 tablespoons) onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden; centers may look underbaked but will firm up as they cool.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for around 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
