Description
Delicious thick chocolate chip cookies that are chewy, gooey, and perfect for dessert lovers.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time and the vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Drop large balls of dough (about 2 tablespoons) onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden; centers may look underbaked but will firm up as they cool.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for around 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
