Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 24 cooked Swedish meatballs
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the egg noodles in salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. Make the roux by melting butter in a large skillet, then gradually stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add beef broth gradually, whisking to prevent lumps, and let simmer and thicken.
  4. Mix in sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper, simmering for about 2 minutes.
  5. Combine the noodles and meatballs with the sauce, stirring carefully.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Add shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Make sure the noodles are cooked al dente to prevent them from becoming mushy during baking.
