- 12 oz egg noodles
- 24 cooked Swedish meatballs
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Boil the egg noodles in salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Make the roux by melting butter in a large skillet, then gradually stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Add beef broth gradually, whisking to prevent lumps, and let simmer and thicken.
- Mix in sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper, simmering for about 2 minutes.
- Combine the noodles and meatballs with the sauce, stirring carefully.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Add shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
Make sure the noodles are cooked al dente to prevent them from becoming mushy during baking.
