- 4 medium apples (preferably tart varieties like Granny Smith)
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Chopped nuts for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Wash the apples thoroughly and remove the core with an apple corer, making sure not to break through the bottom.
- Combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Stuff the cheese mixture into the hollowed apples, filling them to the top.
- Place the stuffed apples in a baking dish and cover them with aluminum foil.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are tender.
- If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top just before serving.
Notes
Choose apples that are firm and not overly ripe to ensure they hold their shape while baking.
