Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberries (ground)
  • A pinch of salt
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the almond flour, powdered sugar, and ground freeze-dried strawberries.
  3. Whip the egg whites until frothy, then add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients with the whipped egg whites, folding gently.
  5. Pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Rest the piped macarons for about 20-30 minutes to form a skin.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until firm to the touch.
  8. Cool completely on the baking sheet before filling with your choice of filling.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze for a month. Use parchment paper to separate layers when freezing.
