Description

Ingredients

  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter, sliced into pats (plus extra for greasing the pan)
  • 2 (21 oz) cans strawberry pie filling
  • 1 box yellow cake mix

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 baking dish generously with butter.
  3. Pour the strawberry pie filling evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the strawberries. Do not prepare the cake mix according to package directions.
  5. Dot the top of the cake mix with the sliced butter, distributing it evenly.
  6. Bake uncovered for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the top is beautifully golden brown and bubbling.

Notes

Do not mix the cake batter; sprinkle the dry cake mix directly on the strawberries for best results.
