- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup strawberries, mashed
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar for glaze
- 2–3 tablespoons milk for glaze
Instructions
- Combine the dry ingredients: In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Prepare the wet ingredients: Heat milk and butter until warm, then add to the dry mixture with egg.
- Knead the dough: Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise: Cover and let it sit in a warm area for about 1 hour until doubled.
- Make the filling: Blend cream cheese, mashed strawberries, powdered sugar, and vanilla until creamy.
- Roll out the dough: Roll to a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the filling: Evenly distribute the filling over the rolled-out dough.
- Roll and cut: Roll tightly into a log and slice into 1 to 1.5 inch rolls.
- Prepare the baking dish: Grease a dish and place rolls inside, leaving space between them.
- Let rise again: Cover the rolls and let rise for about 30 minutes.
- Bake the rolls: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Make the glaze: Mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Drizzle and serve: Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and enjoy!
Notes
These rolls store well. Let them cool completely, then place in an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.
