A delightful dessert that combines the creamy richness of cheesecake with light cake and fresh strawberries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and water until smooth.
  3. Pour the cake batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and egg until creamy and well combined.
  5. Spread the cheesecake mixture evenly over the cake batter.
  6. In a separate bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with sugar and lemon juice, then layer them on top of the cheesecake mixture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let it cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh strawberries when in season. This cake can also be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
