Description

A one-pot creamy pasta dish featuring lean ground beef, perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 8 ounces penne or fusilli pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium vegetable broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the diced onion and sauté until it becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute, stirring occasionally.
  3. Introduce the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. In a separate pot, boil salted water and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  5. Pour the vegetable broth into the skillet with the cooked beef. Stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer for about 3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  6. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts and forms a creamy sauce.
  7. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet, stirring gently to coat the pasta evenly.
  8. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Serve immediately, topped with extra Parmesan if desired.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet with a splash of milk or broth to loosen the sauce.
