Description

A quick and nutritious stir-fried chicken dish paired with vibrant broccoli, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g Chicken breast (sliced or diced)
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch (for coating the chicken)
  • 300 g Broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil (for cooking)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar or honey
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle the chicken with cornstarch and stir to coat every piece.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat, then add the chicken and stir-fry for 5–6 minutes until nicely browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add sliced garlic and grated ginger to the same wok and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add broccoli florets and pour in 2 tablespoons of water. Cover and steam for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Return the chicken to the wok, add soy sauce, sesame oil, and brown sugar or honey, mixing well.
  6. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens.
  7. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately over rice.

Notes

To ensure even cooking, cut chicken and broccoli into uniform pieces and avoid overcrowding the wok.
