Description

Crispy steak fries made from thick potato wedges, seasoned to perfection, and baked for a delicious side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 4 medium Yukon Gold potatoes (about 1 pound 6 ounces)
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the potatoes lengthwise into thick wedges, about ½-inch thick.
  3. Toss the potato wedges with canola oil, paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the fries in a single layer on the baking sheet without overlapping.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, then flip the fries and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes until they are golden and crisp.
  6. Let them cool for a few minutes, sprinkle with extra salt if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider soaking cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before baking. You can also try variations with different seasonings or toppings.
