Description
Delicious meatballs made with ground beef and pork, filled with gooey mozzarella and packed with spinach for a nutritious twist.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup marinara sauce (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, chopped spinach, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Take a small amount of the meat mixture and flatten it in your palm. Place a cube of mozzarella in the center and wrap the meat around it, forming a ball. Repeat until all mixture is used.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and sear them for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Serve hot with marinara sauce drizzled over the top.
