- 1 lb smoked sausage
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 5–6 russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Vegetable oil, as needed
Instructions
- Slice the smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the sausage. Sauté until browned.
- While the sausage is cooking, prepare the potatoes by cutting them into 3/4 inch cubes.
- Add potatoes and chopped onions to the skillet with sausage and pour in water, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and cover. Cook for 10 minutes, gently flipping the mixture once or twice.
- Remove the lid and increase heat back to medium-high. Cook for another 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender and golden.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure potatoes get crispy. You can customize the dish with different meats or vegetables.
