- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture until well blended.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool on wire racks. Optionally, drizzle with a festive glaze before serving.
Notes
For even cookies, use a small cookie scoop. For very soft centers, take the cookies out when the edges turn golden.
