Description

Delightfully soft and refreshing peppermint candies perfect for holiday gifting or as a sweet addition to cookie trays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • ¼ tsp peppermint extract (adjust to taste)
  • Red gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until fluffy.
  2. Gradually mix in the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract until a firm dough forms.
  3. Divide the dough into two parts, keeping ¾ white and coloring the remaining ¼ with red gel food coloring.
  4. Roll small portions of both dough colors into ropes, twist them together, and pinch off small sections to form bite-sized mints.
  5. Let the mints air dry for 1-2 hours, then cut them into pieces and allow to dry completely for 24 hours before serving.

Notes

Store mints in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to a month.
