- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips or holiday M&Ms
- Colored sugar or sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Beat the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Blend in the sour cream just until smooth.
- Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix on low until just combined.
- Gently fold in mini chocolate chips or M&Ms.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto your prepared baking sheets and add sprinkles on top.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
To keep cookies soft, store with a slice of bread in an airtight container.
