Description

A satisfying dish combining tender chicken with a rich cream of mushroom sauce and melty cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup of sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, and sear them until golden brown on both sides.
  3. Place the seared chicken in a baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and sliced mushrooms, then pour over the chicken.
  5. Sprinkle cheese on top of the mixture.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil during the last 10 minutes of baking to let the cheese brown slightly.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For added flavor, experiment with different types of cheese or add vegetables to the sauce.
