Description

A simple icing for sugar cookies that dries shiny and holds color well. Perfect for decorating cut-out cookies.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2–3 tbsp milk (whole or plant-based)
  • 1 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Gel food coloring, assorted

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the sifted powdered sugar and milk. Stir until smooth.
  2. Add corn syrup and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. If desired, add gel food coloring to achieve your desired color.
  4. Use immediately to decorate cookies or store in an airtight container.

Notes

Store icing at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the fridge for up to 1 week. Adjust consistency with additional milk if needed.
