Description

A delicious fusion of burger and quesadilla, featuring crispy tortillas filled with ground beef, cheese, and jalapeños.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (for dipping sauce)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (for dipping sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (for dipping sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning (for dipping sauce)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until brown, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess fat.
  2. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and remove from heat.
  3. Lay one tortilla flat on your work surface. Pour half of the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over it.
  4. Add half of the cooked ground beef mixture on top of the cheese.
  5. Sprinkle half of the diced jalapeños over the beef.
  6. Transfer the remaining cheese on top of the beef, then cover with another tortilla.
  7. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Carefully place your quesadilla in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Flip the quesadilla and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is fully melted.
  9. Remove from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing into wedges. Repeat this process with the remaining ingredients to make more quesadillas.

Notes

To elevate the dish, serve with guacamole, pico de gallo, chips, and salsa.
