Description
A delicious fusion of burger and quesadilla, featuring crispy tortillas filled with ground beef, cheese, and jalapeños.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
- 1/2 cup sour cream (for dipping sauce)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise (for dipping sauce)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice (for dipping sauce)
- 1 teaspoon taco seasoning (for dipping sauce)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until brown, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess fat.
- Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and remove from heat.
- Lay one tortilla flat on your work surface. Pour half of the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over it.
- Add half of the cooked ground beef mixture on top of the cheese.
- Sprinkle half of the diced jalapeños over the beef.
- Transfer the remaining cheese on top of the beef, then cover with another tortilla.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Carefully place your quesadilla in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip the quesadilla and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is fully melted.
- Remove from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing into wedges. Repeat this process with the remaining ingredients to make more quesadillas.
Notes
To elevate the dish, serve with guacamole, pico de gallo, chips, and salsa.
