Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak into thin strips against the grain.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, water, garlic, and ginger. Stir well.
  3. Place the flank steak in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over it, ensuring all pieces are coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
  5. Mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of water to create a slurry and stir into the slow cooker.
  6. Cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Serve the Mongolian beef over cooked rice and garnish with chopped green onions.
