  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Prep the Ingredients: Start by chopping the onion and mincing the garlic.
  2. Season the Meat: Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper.
  3. Sear the Roast: In a skillet, melt half the butter and sear the roast on all sides until browned.
  4. Combine in the Slow Cooker: Place the browned roast into the slow cooker, arranging the onions and garlic around it.
  5. Add Broth and Butter: Pour in the beef broth until the meat is barely covered, then add the remaining butter and sprinkle thyme on top.
  6. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 480 minutes (8 hours) or high for 240 minutes (4 hours).
