- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions
- Prep the Ingredients: Start by chopping the onion and mincing the garlic.
- Season the Meat: Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper.
- Sear the Roast: In a skillet, melt half the butter and sear the roast on all sides until browned.
- Combine in the Slow Cooker: Place the browned roast into the slow cooker, arranging the onions and garlic around it.
- Add Broth and Butter: Pour in the beef broth until the meat is barely covered, then add the remaining butter and sprinkle thyme on top.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 480 minutes (8 hours) or high for 240 minutes (4 hours).
- Shred and Serve: Use two forks to shred the beef directly in the slow cooker before serving.
