- 6 cups sliced apples (peeled)
- 1 box yellow or spice cake mix
- 1/2 cup butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (optional)
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Grease the slow cooker to prevent sticking and make serving easier.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sliced apples with cinnamon and brown sugar (if using). Mix well.
- Pour the apple mixture into the slow cooker, spreading them out evenly.
- Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the apples without mixing.
- Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix.
- Pour water around the edges of the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or high for 2 hours until apples are tender and topping is set.
- Serve warm, optionally topped with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples for best results. Adjust cooking time based on your slow cooker model.
