Description

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs raw beef chuck
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Place the raw beef chuck in the slow cooker.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine beef broth, onion, garlic, carrots, potatoes, celery, thyme, salt, pepper, and bay leaf. Mix well.
  3. Ladle the mixture over the beef chuck in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 480 minutes or high for 240 minutes, until the beef is tender.
  5. Once done, remove the bay leaf and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider browning the beef before adding it to the slow cooker.
