Description

Delicious French bread slices topped with savory sloppy joes and melted cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 1/2 yellow onion (diced)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (15 ounce) can sloppy joe sauce
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350° F (175°C).
  2. Cut the French bread loaf in half lengthwise and place it cut-side up on a lined baking sheet.
  3. Add a little butter or oil to a large sauté pan and cook the diced onions over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes until soft.
  4. Add the ground beef to the pan, crumbling it while cooking, until no longer pink.
  5. Drain any excess grease if necessary, then stir in the sloppy joe sauce until well combined.
  6. Spread the sloppy joe mixture evenly over both halves of the bread.
  7. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  8. Bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the edges of the bread are toasty.
  9. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
