Description

A creamy and crunchy macaroni salad, perfect for picnics and barbecues.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups macaroni pasta, uncooked
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup bell pepper, diced (any color)
  • 1/2 cup sweet pickles, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni pasta according to the package instructions, usually 8 to 10 minutes until al dente.
  2. Once cooked, drain the pasta and rinse it under cold water to cool it.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  4. Add the cooled macaroni, celery, red onion, bell pepper, and sweet pickles to the bowl. Mix gently to combine.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to meld flavors.
  7. Before serving, sprinkle paprika on top for garnish. Serve chilled.

Notes

Rinsing the pasta is crucial to stop cooking and prevent mushiness. Chill the salad to enhance flavors.
