- 2 cups macaroni pasta, uncooked
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup bell pepper, diced (any color)
- 1/2 cup sweet pickles, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni pasta according to the package instructions, usually 8 to 10 minutes until al dente.
- Once cooked, drain the pasta and rinse it under cold water to cool it.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
- Add the cooled macaroni, celery, red onion, bell pepper, and sweet pickles to the bowl. Mix gently to combine.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to meld flavors.
- Before serving, sprinkle paprika on top for garnish. Serve chilled.
Notes
Rinsing the pasta is crucial to stop cooking and prevent mushiness. Chill the salad to enhance flavors.
