Description
A delightful twist on a classic recipe that brings together crunch, flavor, and vibrancy, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 to 1.5 lbs fresh green beans (trimmed)
- 1 tsp salt (use to taste if using salted butter)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds (toast for added crunch)
Instructions
- Wash the green beans under cold water and trim the ends to remove tough parts.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and blanch the green beans for 3-5 minutes until vibrant green and slightly tender.
- Transfer the beans to a bowl of ice water for about 5 minutes to cool, then drain.
- Toast the sliced almonds in a skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
- Melt the unsalted butter in the same skillet, add the blanched green beans, season with salt, and sauté for 5 minutes until heated through.
- Add the toasted almonds to the skillet, toss to combine, and serve hot.
Notes
Keep an eye on the almonds while toasting as they can burn quickly. Adjust salt according to your taste.
