- 12 oz rigatoni pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the rigatoni pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes and heavy cream; let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked rigatoni to the skillet and toss to coat it in the sauce.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave before serving.
