Description

Sausage Alfredo Pasta is a creamy and comforting dish combining Italian sausage with velvety Alfredo sauce, perfect for busy nights or cozy dinners.


Ingredients

  • 12 ounces pasta (fettuccine, penne, or your choice)
  • 1 pound Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta in salted water according to the package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir in Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat with the sauce. If too thick, add reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
  6. Sprinkle fresh parsley over the pasta before serving hot with additional grated Parmesan if desired.

Notes

Watch the garlic to avoid burning and adjust seasonings as needed since sausage can be salty. Customize with vegetables or different sausages.
