Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  3. Stir in the flour and salt until just combined to form a dough. Press this dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes, or until it turns lightly golden.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and chopped pecans. Pour this mixture over the baked crust.
  6. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with sea salt.
  8. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into them.
