- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Stir in the flour and salt until just combined to form a dough. Press this dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes, or until it turns lightly golden.
- In another bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and chopped pecans. Pour this mixture over the baked crust.
- Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into them.
