Description

Rich, buttery bars with a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors topped with sea salt and caramel.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the softened butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add all-purpose flour, vanilla extract, and salt, stir until well combined.
  4. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Spread half of the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  6. Pour and spread caramel sauce over the first layer of dough.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough over the caramel layer.
  8. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Sprinkle sea salt on top while warm and let cool completely before cutting into bars.
