Description

Delightful salmon patties served with a creamy lemon-garlic sauce, perfect for a fulfilling family dinner or a quick meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 400g (14 oz) salmon, cooked and flaked (or well-drained canned)
  • 75g (3/4 cup) breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 stalks green onion, finely sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Zest from 1/2 lemon
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise (for sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, green onion, parsley, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl. Mix until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 6 portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4-inch thick. Chill for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Make the sauce by stirring together the mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, garlic, Dijon mustard, parsley, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  5. Serve the patties warm, topped with the creamy lemon-garlic sauce and extra parsley.

Notes

For added freshness, serve with a light salad or quinoa. You can also experiment with different herbs in the patties.
