Delightful salmon patties served with a creamy lemon-garlic sauce, perfect for a fulfilling family dinner or a quick meal.

- 400g (14 oz) salmon, cooked and flaked (or well-drained canned)
- 75g (3/4 cup) breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 stalks green onion, finely sliced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Zest from 1/2 lemon
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise (for sauce)
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, finely grated
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, green onion, parsley, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into 6 portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4-inch thick. Chill for 10–15 minutes.
- Make the sauce by stirring together the mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, garlic, Dijon mustard, parsley, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate.
- Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Serve the patties warm, topped with the creamy lemon-garlic sauce and extra parsley.
Notes
For added freshness, serve with a light salad or quinoa. You can also experiment with different herbs in the patties.
