Description

Enjoy a classic American dish with a fun twist by making Salisbury Steak Meatballs paired with creamy garlic herb mashed potatoes for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (parsley and thyme), chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix the ground beef with breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into small meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for about 20 minutes or until they are cooked through.
  5. Heat the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce in a skillet. Whisk in the flour to thicken the sauce, stirring continuously.
  6. Add the baked meatballs to the skillet and let them simmer in the gravy.
  7. Boil a pot of salted water, add the cubed potatoes, and cook until tender.
  8. Mash the potatoes with milk, butter, minced garlic, and fresh herbs until smooth and creamy.
  9. Serve the garlic herb mashed potatoes topped with Salisbury steak meatballs and gravy.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding finely chopped bell peppers or mushrooms into the meatball mixture.
