Scale
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 onions, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, minced

- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste

- Cook the chicken: After the onions are ready, add the marinated chicken to the pot. Cook until the chicken starts to brown.
- Add tomatoes: Once the chicken is browned, stir in the chopped tomatoes. Cook until the tomatoes soften.
- Incorporate the rice: Add the rinsed basmati rice to the pot. Stir gently to mix with the chicken and spices.
- Cook the biryani: Pour in about 4 cups of water, ensuring that the rice is fully submerged. Season with salt. Cover and reduce the heat to low. Let it cook for around 20 minutes.
- Finish with cream: Once the rice is ready, gently fold in the heavy cream.
- Garnish: Serve the biryani hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
