Description

Easily make a delicious rhubarb liqueur at home with just a few ingredients for a refreshing twist in cocktails.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh rhubarb, chopped into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 cups vodka
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the rhubarb thoroughly and trim off the leaves. It’s important to remove the leaves as they are toxic. Chop the rhubarb into small pieces.
  2. Combine the chopped rhubarb, granulated sugar, and lemon zest in a large glass jar or bottle. Stir or shake gently, ensuring everything is well mixed. Let the mixture sit for 24 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Pour in the vodka and add vanilla extract if you choose to. Mix well and seal the jar tightly.

Notes

Store for at least a month before use to allow flavors to deepen. Can last up to a year if stored properly.
