Description

Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies combine two beloved desserts into one delicious treat with a rich chocolatey flavor and a tangy cream cheese layer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch square baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and 1 cup of sugar until combined. Add vanilla extract, red food coloring, and apple cider vinegar, and mix well.
  3. Incorporate the eggs, adding them one at a time and whisking well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, reserving about 1/4 cup for later use.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, 1/3 cup of sugar, 1 egg, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until creamy and smooth.
  7. Spoon the cheesecake mixture over the brownie batter, spreading it out evenly. Drop small spoonfuls of the reserved brownie batter on top of the cheesecake layer and swirl together with a toothpick or knife.
  8. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until the edges are firm and the center is set.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Let them cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Cool completely before storage. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
