Description

Delicious Red Velvet Brownies with a rich chocolate flavor and a creamy cream cheese frosting.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a large bowl. After melting, mix in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Then stir in the vanilla extract and red food coloring.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder in another bowl.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until fully combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the brownies cool completely before preparing the frosting.
  9. Beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  10. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies, cut into squares, and serve.
