- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon red food coloring
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- Continue to cook the mixture without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
- Carefully remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the red food coloring, cinnamon oil, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
- Pour the hot candy mixture onto a greased baking sheet or marble slab.
- Once cool enough to handle, pull the candy to form a thick rope and cut into desired shapes.
- Allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
