Description

Fluffy and fruity rolls with a delicious cream cheese glaze, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet of instant yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt together. In a saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm. Gradually add this to the dry ingredients with the egg and stir until combined.
  2. Knead the dough: Knead the dough until smooth and elastic for about 5-7 minutes. Then, place it in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise until doubled in size, which takes about 1 hour.
  3. Roll out the dough: Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle that is about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Spread the jam: Evenly spread the raspberry jam over the rolled-out dough.
  5. Form the rolls: Roll the dough tightly to form a log, then slice the log into 1-2 inch pieces.
  6. Let the rolls rise: Place the rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover them, and let them rise until puffed, which takes about 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown.
  8. Make the glaze: While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by beating the cream cheese until smooth, then mix in the powdered sugar and milk to reach a drizzling consistency.
  9. Drizzle the glaze: Once the rolls are done, remove them from the oven and drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls.

Notes

Customize with different fruit preserves or add chocolate chips for a twist. Store in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate for longer freshness.
