Description
Healthy Air Fryer Churro Bites with a crisp shell and soft center, finished with light cinnamon sugar. Quick, family-friendly, and perfect for dessert boards or after-school snacks.
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup white whole wheat flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp fine sea salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt (thick)
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (plus more for brushing)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup cane sugar
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Optional dips: warm chocolate sauce, vanilla Greek yogurt, or warm caramel
Instructions
1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F for 3 minutes; mix cinnamon sugar and set aside.
2. Whisk flours, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
3. Stir in Greek yogurt, melted butter, and vanilla to form a shaggy dough.
4. Knead 1–2 minutes until smooth; dust with flour if sticky.
5. Divide dough; roll each piece into 1/2-inch thick ropes.
6. Cut into 1-inch pieces to make bites.
7. Brush basket lightly with melted butter or oil; arrange bites with space.
8. Air fry 5–7 minutes, shaking at minute 4, until golden.
9. Brush warm bites with a little melted butter.
10. Toss in cinnamon sugar and serve with dips.
Notes
For dairy-free, use plant-based yogurt and butter.
Freeze uncoated bites up to 2 months; reheat at 350°F, then toss in sugar.
Flavor ideas: orange zest in dough, cocoa sugar coating, or cardamom sugar.
