- 4 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
- 4 tablespoons marinara or pizza sauce
- 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8–10 slices of pepperoni (or preferred pizza topping)
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- Sliced black olives
- Sautéed mushrooms
- Sliced bell peppers
- Fresh basil leaves
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Additional marinara or pizza sauce (for dipping)
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients, sautéing any vegetables until slightly soft.
- Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread and marinara sauce on the unbuttered side of two slices.
- Assemble the sandwich with mozzarella cheese, toppings, and another slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
- Cook in a skillet over medium heat for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Serve warm with marinara or pizza sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor and keep cooking at medium heat to avoid burning.
