- 1 (20-ounce) can pineapple chunks, undrained
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (optional)
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- Pour the entire can of crushed pineapple and the entire can of pineapple chunks (both with their juice) into the prepared baking dish.
- Spread evenly and sprinkle the granulated sugar evenly over the pineapples to adjust sweetness.
- Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the pineapple mixture.
- Pour the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix.
- Sprinkle the chopped pecans or walnuts evenly over the top.
