A creamy, comforting casserole that combines the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak in an easy-to-make dish.

- 1 lb ground beef (or shaved steak)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- Optional: chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef (or shaved steak) and brown, draining excess fat if necessary.
- Add diced onion, green and red bell peppers, and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are soft, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
- Season with salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Lower heat and mix in softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer mixture to the greased baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese, sprinkling dried oregano over the top.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
This casserole can be made ahead of time. Refrigerate before baking for up to a day.
