Description

Ingredients

  • 6 cups fresh apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and slice about 6 cups of apples.
  2. Toss them in a bowl with lemon juice, granulated sugar, 1 tbsp flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread this mixture into a greased 9×9 dish.
  3. In another bowl, mix the remaining flour, brown sugar, oats, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40–45 minutes until the cobbler is bubbly and golden.
  6. Let it cool for 10 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
